HHRMC Teams Up with YMCA for Great Shrinkdown

Hilton Head Regional Medical Center has joined with the YMCA of Beaufort County to launch the Greater Lowcountry Shrinkdown, a free health and wellness program.
The Lowcountry Shrinkdown is a FREE, eight-week healthy living awareness program that targets youth and adult obesity and related diseases. Participants are provided with a Healthy Living Guide loaded weekly with information about nutrition, exercise and health education. During the Shrinkdown program, participants take part in weekly weigh-ins and counseling, as well as attend, "Health Talks," a weekly series of lectures by wellness and medical experts that focus on topics related to health and wellness.

The Shrinkdown kicks off at 12:30 p.m., Monday, January 9th at the University of South Carolina's south campus. The first 500 persons at this event will receive a free t-shirt. Thegrand finale for the Shrinkdown will be held on March 2.

Hilton Head Regional Medical Center is one of the official "Weigh-In Sites "  Every Friday during the eight-week Shrinkdown program, participants report to their designated weigh-in site to have their weight confidentially entered.
