The Ambulatory Surgery Center at Bluffton-Okatie Outpatient Center announced today that it has entered into a new contract with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina to cover services for Preferred Blue members. The contract is a result of an operations change at the Bluffton-Okatie Outpatient Center that newly defines the surgical services, a stand-alone Ambulatory Center.
The "Bluffton-Okatie" "Outpatient" "Center" is designed to meet many healthcare needs in one convenient facility. It includes an advanced outpatient surgery center, physician offices, diagnostic radiology, laboratory, rehabilitation and an urgent care center.
"We are excited to expand the relationship with Blue Cross to cover the outpatient surgical services at "Bluffton-Okatie" "Outpatient" "Center"," said Dennis Bruns, chief executive officer of "Hilton" "Head" "Regional" "Medical" "Center". In 2003, "Hilton" "Head" "Regional" "Medical" "Center and BlueCross extended their contract keeping HHRMC in the Preferred Blue (PPO) network. "This contract is important to our community because BlueCross members will be able to receive healthcare services where they live and work, both on Hilton Head Island and in the Bluffton-Okatie area."
